With regard to Dun Laoghaire Co. Dublin has anyone noticed the ongoing strike at Connolly's shoes? There is a protest rally being held this Saturday in support of the workers who are currentlyon strike. It starts at 2pm outside the shop on George's Street and is well worth supporting. A senior Iranian cleric says women who wear revealing clothing and behave promiscuously are to blame for earthquakes. The Pirate Party of Ireland was disheartened to learn that the government is currently in the planning stages of establishing arbitrary internet censorship. What form this censorship will take when it is finally rolled out is quite opaque, but it would most certainly result in the blocking of many websites. Such a system will be ineffective in its goals, produce perverse effects, impose substantial costs, and reduce freedom of speech. read full story / add a comment
