The IX IRISH-LATIN AMERICA FILM FESTIVAL will focus on short films and documentaries about Latin America made by filmmakers from Latin America, Europe and Canada. The festival is aligned with LATIN AMERICA WEEK 2008, which this year takes place from 5th to 12th April. The theme this year is private exploitation of water and its impact on human development in Latin America. All films in Spanish have English subtitles. Free admission !!! Dublin is the first city in Ireland to embrace the spirit of the global campaign of Earth Hour 2008. The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Cllr Paddy Bourke (Labour) has been instrumental in gaining the support of city council representatives to endorse the campaign.
