Latest twist in the killing of De Menezes on July 22 in london at Kennington tube station. The Daily Telegraph has revealed that the police who killed Jean Charles de Menezes used _illegal_ "dum dum" bullets. ["Modern hollow point bullets are descendants of the expanding "dum dum" ammunition created by the British in an arsenal of the same name near Calcutta, in India, at the end of the 19th century and outlawed under the Hague Declaration of 1899. The bullets, which expand and splinter on impact, were available to officers taking part in Operation Kratos, the national police drive against suspected suicide bombers which has been described as a "shoot to kill" policy."] read full story / add a comment

This year, 18 people are dead, and so many friends, family and people are affected. Last year, it was 8 deaths in a turf war. The turf war is territory and the war relates to the sale of illegal drugs that destroy peoples' lives. I believe in everybody having a degree of self reliance in and input to halting this plague of mind distortion so called pleasure. The articles in New Scientist are worth a read. This week's article is second from the bottom.....the title is what motivates me to write, the remainder of my comment is about contextualising the effects of drugs on long term and health and in particular the consequences of mental health problems as a direct consequence of addiction. Let the children know. Why don't we have some for of game that shows you how unpleasant it is when your mind goes ary..... http://www.newscientist.com read full story / add a comment

Irish Frog Farm to close Liberation At the end of October the largest breeder of frogs in Europe for vivisection was visited by the ALF, with appropriate messages left behind. Their details were published not long afterwards. And now this beautiful bit of info... ALF Ireland received information from Denis McCarthy of the Frog Farm, Kells, Co. Meath that he has agreed to close down his business in April 2006, he has also agreed not to sell the business on. As thousands of frogs are taken from the wild every month and tortured to death in vivisection labs around the world because of his activities we demand that Denis McCarthy end his business at the end of December 2005. Until he ceases trading and all of his equipment is given to animal welfarists for rescue use he will remain a legitimate target. ALF Ireland................till all are free read full story / add a comment

George Monbiot (Guardian Nov 15th 2005) comments on the Italian TV documentary supposedly showing that the US used phosphorous in Iraq. He points out at least two newspaper reports by embedded reporters which clearly state that US forces used "shake-n-bake" phosphorous weapons. He also points out that the Labour MP Ann Clywd who was part of the UK government's disinformation campaign on the related issue of the use of napalm has been played for a patsy. read full story / add a comment

There are two types of Australian today, the pre-Howard traditional Aussie and the Howard infected diseased group of cringing cowards. Take note you gutless wonders. If you think the Howard disease will endure and you’re safe, then think again. Howard’s survival depends on the degree to which the consciousness of the people has been permanently altered. What residual or lasting effects do you think Howard will leave on the consciousness of the people? Almost none, if history is consistent! read full story / add a comment

The french state has banned any public demonstrations, brought in curfews, laws not used since the time ofthe Algerian struggle for independence in the 1950s. These measures will not solve the problems of exclusion, racism and poverty that have led people to riot and take to the streets across France. read full story / add a comment |
