all those with concern for the environment are urged to attend the handing in of a letter of protest by the Green, Galway City Councillor, Niall O' Brolchain, to the Norwegian honorary consul, Ray Mooney, at his offices, Mooney Auctioneers, Victoria Place (the south-west corner of Eyre Square).

This letter is relevant to the ongoing struggle by Erris residents against the depredations of the Shell led consortium in North Mayo and requests the Norwegian government to force Statoil to adhere to the same environmental standards as they are required to in Norway. I thought this might be of interest for assorted lefts. I've written this article for a music fanzine in my own area, but it certainly has political relevance, especially for fans of the German industrial metal group. The politics of Rammstein have been debated for years, but those who I have spoken with have always been a little unsure of the actual stance of the band. The recently launched Humanist Youth: Ireland group offers resources for Irish atheists, agnostics, skeptics, rationalists, secularists, etc. It will campaign for increased separation of church and state and individual freedom for everyone, and provide a voice for the non-religious and ethical young people of Ireland.

Labour Court Award of €8,000 per annum for unpaid overtime – a stunning vindication of worker exploitation revelations;
