A new European constitution is now proposed that ignores civil society. This constitution consecrates neoliberalism as the official doctrine of the EU. It makes competition the basis for European community law, and indeed for all human activity. The constitution completely ignores sustainable development, gives Nato a role in European foreign policy and defence, and pushes for the militarisation of the EU. As many of you may know Fionn Ryder, Treasurer of the CPSU AN Post Branch is in Mountjoy Jail for the heinous crime of "protesting". He has just served the 1st week of a 3 week sentence & has been fined 1500 Euros by the High Court for fighting against Double Taxation.
Therefore a protest has been called at 7.15 this Monday evening the 17th Nov outside Mountjoy to show solidarity with those jailed & to demand their immediate release. The CPSU An Post Branch Banner will be there and we are asking for a sizeable turn-out.
