international / anti-war / imperialism / news report Monday September 07, 2009 15:56 by gurgle-tweet iosaf mac diarmada
Until this week most young people doing juggling two worthwhile tasks like convincing their elders to vote No to Lisbon (either for the second time or the all important first) or researching a hefty Junior Cert project on international strategic relations and peace studies - would have had to rely on figures on the official arms trade dating from 2007. DUBLIN, MONDAY, 07 SEPTEMBER 2009: In the Taxation Commission report published today we see another attack on the Artists Tax Exemption Scheme. In the recommendation: 8.98 the Commission has called for a complete abolition of the tax exemption. The fact that individual artists are one of the most economically deprived groups that punch above their own weight in their contribution to Irish society has been ignored. read full story / add a comment
