Calling Trump a dictator is just silly, says Prof James Allan. Yes, he's bombastic. But he's been elected to secure the border and drain the swamp. And he is the President, in whom all executive authority resides.

While these accusations are not new, their significance is increased given the Al Samoud missiles were one of the pretexts the US/K used for going to war on Iraq. It will be interesting to see if they are trundled out as a pretext for action against Egypt once the war in Iraq is over? How involved is Israel in developing US military strategy and targeting? US and Israeli intelligence sources allege that Western and US technology obtained by Egyptian government-owned companies is being sent to Pyongyang and is adapted and returned as advanced missile components for Egypt's medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) programme. The same Israeli sources claim that Egypt has 'Scud C' missiles with a range of 500km. The missiles Cairo is now developing, the sources said, are believed to nearly double that range. Israeli and US officials differ over the extent of Egypt's missile programme and its threat to the read full story / add a comment

North Dakota, still illegal to live together outside of marraige. OK so it aint the Taliban, but don't this stink of christian fundamentalism? And this is after a recent vote, in which the representatives of the good people of north dakota voted to keep the 113 year law on the books. It may not be real news, but if I lived there I'd be a criminal, along with my wicked partner........ http://breaking.examiner.ie/2003/04/04/story94229.html read full story / add a comment

Word just coming to me of a group set to go and meet colin powell in Belgium (NATO) today. Support gaining strength for a group (name unknown) of Iraqi people residing in Belgium set to launch an intense effort to indict him for war crimes while on Belgian soil. Speculation is (reliable but infrequent source) that Powell appeared nervous about such action today. This weekend in Brussells there will be a BBQ outside the US embassy (Saturday) and a Reclaim The Streets party Sunday. Appologies for lack of further information. If anyone has more contact with people on the ground there please post. Unlikely that Powell will get arrested, but this could yet be a good advertisement of his crimes, the ill-will directed at him and the determination of people to bring him to justice. read full story / add a comment
