Today is the muslim holiday of Al-Isrá´wa-l-mi-´ray. [standard approximation of classical arabic] This holiday celebrates the Ascension of the Prophet (PBUH) from the rock of the dome in Jerusalem. Denis Donaldson, Head of Administration for Sinn Féin at the Assembly was arrested in the early hours of this morning at his home in West Belfast. Other raids and arrests took place on the homes of community activists involved in Policing, Human Rights and Justice issues. Papers relating to these issues were seized. Sinn Féin's offices in Belfast and Stormont have been raided by approximately 200 RUC/PSNI officers. Several Sinn Féin officials and employees have been detained. Documents have been confiscated. So at a time when Loyalism is tearing itself apart and attacks on Nationalist areas continue to occur, the RUC can still take time out of their busy schedule to harass political parties they don't agree with. read full story / add a comment
