Anti-war protesters this morning occupied American arms manufacturer Raytheon's Derry office, with nine people barricading themselves into the building and decommissioning vital equipment including computers.

According to the anti-war activists involved, the computer system was "completely disabled". It is understood that thousands of documents and dozens of computers were burned and thrown from windows by members of a group that entered the building at 8a.m. this morning.

Among those in the premises to protest against the world's largest missiles manufacturer was veteran socialist and civil rights campaigner Eamonn McCann.

Unfortunately for the Labour Party- who today, released a press statement,
(The Annual Press Release about how expensive it is to send a child to school).

About a 1000 euro's per child. Which when you think about it , is pretty crazy.
This is the state school sector: who send parents letters about registration fees
(an annual thing now) wherein, in secondary, you have to re-register your child
every year for a suggested fee. Then there is the locker fee, the voluntary subscription
(suggested amount 150 per child) The books, shoes (they wear out damn quick).
Registration, suggested donation, locker fee and books : about 500 euros per secondary
school child. (and More)

The only thing preventing Israeli officials from jumping up and down with glee, according Aluf Benn of the daily Haaretz newspaper, was the fear that "demonstrated Israeli enthusiasm for the draft could influence support among Security Council members, who could demand a change in wording that may adversely affect Israel." So no celebration parties till the resolution is passed.

... The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) reports that Israeli aircraft crossed the line "on an almost daily basis" between 2001 and 2003, and "persistently" until 2006. These incursions "caused great concern to the civilian population, particularly low-altitude flights that break the sound barrier over populated areas". On some occasions, Hizbullah tried to shoot them down with anti-aircraft guns...
