Dublin Tenants Association are launching a campaign for rent controls and security of tenure, to coincide with their submission to the Oireachtas housing committee. They are asking people to submit photos (anonymous) of themselves with a short sign telling people about their stories from the private rental sector. Woodburn Forest near Carrickfergus in County Antrim has become the site of the first operational fracking rig on the island of Ireland. On Monday 16 May InfraStrata PLC began to drill, seeking to confirm a viable oil find which will pave the way for large scale extraction.
