![]() Badgerwatch (Ireland) is calling on Environment Minister, Mr. John Gormley, for an immediate halt to the killing of badgers for their alleged role in the spread of bovine TB. Latest figures released by the Department of Agriculture (DAFF) shows that almost 7,000 badgers were slaughtered by Department trappers in 2008. Ironically, close on 30,000 ’reactor’ cattle failed to pass the TB skin test for the same period indicating a rise in TB levels over the previous six years. I read full story / add a comment ![]()

As part of the IPSC's Week of Solidarity Against Apartheid Walls in Palestine and Against the Siege of Gaza, the IPSC in association with Viva Palestina and The Workshops Collective are proud to host a film screening and public meeting with Evie Soli and Pete St. John-Jones (activists from the from the International Solidarity Movement in Bil'in), Ger Cassidy (Viva Palestina) and David Landy (Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign). They will be screening the documentary 'Bassem Abu Rahmah - Story of a Martyr'. On Saturday 14th November the IPSC will hold a National Rally Against Apartheid in Palestine & The Siege of Gaza. An Bord Pleanala announced on Tuesday a deferral of the decision on the Corrib Gas onshore Pipeline, citing 14 conditions which cast huge doubt over claims from Shell that the project is safe. In the third delay on the decision regarding this pipeline, which was originally due on August 10, the Bord have highlighted hugely important safety concerns which are at the heart of the community's objections to the imposition of the Corrib Gas Project on the area. read full story / add a comment |
