IrishRepublican.net has stepped into the spotlight again. We believe, as republicans, that music plays a vital role in our struggle. Each song tells a story, of an ambush, a republican martyr, or a famous event that has passed us by. We have taken to this belief, and established an online radio station, Irish Republican Radio. Irish Republican Radio currently has several DJ's, and we broadcast 24/7, bringing you songs of struggle, songs of history and martyrs and the odd bit of Ceili. No-one has put a street value yet on the 110 kids seized by lifeguards and customs guards today off the Dun Laoighaire coast. Nor has the Taoiseach made a facine statement to the Dail on the increase in irresponsible use of leisure craft in our waters. But analysts like me are quick to point out the links on safety issues as the suicide prevention exercise organised by the Royal St George Yachtclub under the smokescreen title "junior regatta" occured on the same day 11 teachers ran rather than walked down the stairs of the National musem of Natural History causing it to collapse. Ambulances were obviously stretched to the limit and headshots today went untreated. read full story / add a comment

20 luglio 2001- 20 luglio 2007 commemoration of the death of Carlo Giuliani. His case was pigeon- holed in Italy and now the court of Strasbourg is re-opening the case. In love memory of Carlo we ask justice for all ! The italian police chief , De Gennaro, is now investigated for having ordered to use brutal force with a group of activists sleeping in the Diaz school during the G8 in Genoa. The Corrib scheme has been criticised for being planned as a series of interlinked parts, each one split between different areas of the State's bureaucracy, with no one seeing the whole jigsaw, nobody in charge assessing the full impact of the refinery, different parts of the onshore pipeline, the offshore pipeline, the offshore rig etc. This device is called "project splitting', and is supposed to be illegal under European Union planning law. Now it seems, we can begin to see the Corrib scheme as itself a part of a greater whole, with more refineries planned for the Bellanaboy bridge site, and more onshore pipelines criss-crossing the landscape, as this article from the Western People shows. read full story / add a comment

On Saturday 30th of June, 2007, Choice Ireland held a rally at the Central Bank Plaza at 2pm. The theme of the rally was "Fight for a Woman's Right to Choose". In attendance were Senator David Norris as well as Ivana Bacik and a representative from Doctors for Choice, who spoke on their different experiences of the issue of reproductive rights, as well as the status of the campaign in the light of a recent M-R-B-I poll that presented that a majority of people now support legislating for abortion rights in the Republic of Ireland. read full story / add a comment |
