This is a proposal for a public conversation and public meeting, dedicated to examining the economic arguments for and against the M3 motorway. 10% are not. Of that 10%- There is a disparity in the care of Irish Children and in the caring for Children who are separated from their Parents becuase of the Asylum Process. Of That 10%- The reports say that there is an increasing use of restraints. Of that 10%- No home has been found for them Mary Rafferty in the Irish Times published an appalling indictment of the State approach to care of the most vulnerable in Irish Society. Lenihan was last seen in Geneva being carpetted because the rights of the Child are not transposed into our constitution- though we signed onto it. read full story / add a comment

The death has occured of an indymedia NYC photojournalist and activist in Oaxaca Mexico. He was shot by forces loyal to the Governor of Oaxaca as he was videoing in the zone of the popular uprising led by the APPO- The Popular Assembly of the Oaxacan People. We have all seen the photos of the assassin, the downed photographer and the scenes in NYC of Erin Siegel Indymedia photographer/Reuter photographer being arrested and her camera confiscated. The Protest at the Mexican Consulate was a solidarity and celebration of Brad Will's Life. Others have died this week in Oaxaca, members of the APPO and the medium for Broadcast of the APPO, the Radio Universidad was attacked and put off Air. In all this the activist and writer has died and brought the truth of the lawlessness of the federales who are sponsored by the US into our community. Vertex Aerospace LLC, formerly Raytheon Aerospace LLC, was acquired by Veritas Capital, a private equity investment firm, in 2001. The company changed its name from Raytheon Aerospace LLC in June 2003, but Raytheon Company (its former parent) retains about a quarter of the company. Vertex Aerospace LLC has its headquarters in Madison, Miss. The company is considered one of the leaders in aviation and aerospace technical services, and its 6,300 employees operate in 42 states and 32 countries. About 95 percent of its sales are for the U.S. government, and its annual 2001 sales totaled about $500 million. From 1997 to 2002, Vertex Aerospace (then Raytheon Aerospace) received around $2.1 billion in U.S. government contracts. Former parent Raytheon, which maintains an interest in Vertex Aerospace, had more than 5,300 contracts with the U.S. government from 1990 through 2002 worth nearly $58.5 billion. On Tuesday 24th of October University College Cork's International Relations Society (IRSOC) had an information stand in Arás Na Mac Leinn to coincide with UN day. Social mobility is the amount which an individual in a given society can change their social status, or class, throughout their life. Under modern western capitalism we are told that through hard work, study and dedication we can all become wealthy and successful. Some even go so far as to say that we no longer live under a class system, as our social-status is purely the product of our own actions.
