The desolate wasteland of one of north belfasts notorious peacelines, and favourite hunting ground of the Shankill butchers, Duncairn gardens, interface between loyalist UFF, tiger bay, and republican New lodge, the few remaining families on lower Duncairn had their windows broken on Monday. read full story / add a comment

The cops, feds, guards or whatever you like to call them are using the satirical magazine the Slate as proof that violent confrontation was pre-meditated and organised for May the sixth. Representatives from their representative association have been all over the media spouting this limp line. They have encountered no direct opposition on this specific. They don't get it (surprise). And even if they do they won't because they don't want to and they're floundering, grasping for an escape hatch. read full story / add a comment

Below is a Press Release from Working Class Action outlining why we are distributing a leaflet in Dublin Central calling on voters not to support Dr. Dermot Fitzpatrick. Bertie's office has got into an awful tizz about this. A senior Ahern aide has accused people in the wrong and issued threats against WCA activists. He also says Bertie is 'very upset and disappointed.' Awww! read full story / add a comment

I was arrested in the RTS protest for doing a headstand(see article on 7th of May)and i would like to know if anyone has footage or photos taken at the point where i comitted my "crime"(on the junction on Dame street outside Thomas Reids pub)I have blond dreadlocks and was wearing a black jumper with red stripes. It could come in very useful as they are trying to charge me with abusive behaviour which is totally unfounded. read full story / add a comment

For the second time in a very short period, the Israeli police have begun an investigation against the Indymedia Israel organization. The first investigation was instigated by the Israeli Ministry of Communication. The present investigation is in reference to an article which had been deleted from the website newswire. The complaints being made to the police must be seen as part of a wider campaign being carried out by certain right-wing interests, against both the democratic right to free speech and the right to privacy, with the broader intent to quash any form critical dialogue. read full story / add a comment

By comparing Sinn Fein to Le Pen, Ruairi Quinn conflates the anti-imperialism of the republican movement with the ultra-nationalism of European imperialism. He shows his ignorance of Irish history and the deep, organic connection to that history of Irish republicanism, especially its struggle on behalf of those dispossessed by the genocidal depradations of English imperialism. To-day the Travelling people in Kerry have publicly supported Martin Ferris. The racist Immigration Platform has singled out Sinn Fein for criticism because of Sinn Fein's support for refugees and immigrants. Fat-cat Quinn purports to lead a 'Labour' Party, but his ignorant remarks show that the republican movement is the true repository of the radical, republican, socialist anti-imperialism of James Connolly, whilst Quinn and his party are on the side of the propertied, possessing, priveleged class,- to which Quinn himself belongs. read full story / add a comment
