Dublin City Council were given leave by Dublin Circuit Court to test the validity of Bin Charges in the Supreme Court. This throws the whole issue into the air again. The Council will not be able to bring any more non-payers to court until the case is heard, which may take up to a year. It also means that it will be very difficult for the Council to implement non-collection (which still has'nt happened in most parts of Dublin, despite all the huffing and puffing by the Council)given the question mark over the arrears. At our recent meeting we discussed the following documents which formalise how we work. We hope that they will make it easier for new people to get involved and understand how we work. read full story / add a comment
