The evaluation of teachers’ performance and teaching and learning methods is necessary and has the purpose of being a basis for continuous improvement of education and the dialogue between teachers and students. The process of continuous evaluation of the quality of education is indispensable when it comes to ensuring high quality education, and should thus be guaranteed by education authorities and school management.
Evaluation of quality with the aim to assess the standard of education should be accompanied by clear and binding guidelines concerning the involvement of all stakeholders in education when the initiation, execution, interpretation of results and the follow-up of an evaluation are concerned. In order for the evaluation of teachers’ performance, teaching and learning methods to serve its purpose, the results of the evaluation must be followed up and used as a part of further development of schools and education. read full story / add a comment

Haiti is the poorest country on the Western Hemisphere
and its all history is one of foreign intervention and
looting, from colonial times until its republican
period. Last year Haiti celebrated the 200th
anniversary of its existence; not a minor celebration,
as Haiti was the first Latin American country to gain
its independence and represented the first step to the
abolition of slavery. But Haiti had to pay a very high
price for the freedom of its offsprings read full story / add a comment

Some of the folks from Riot-Folk! Records are planning to come early for the G8 in Scotland and want to tour around a bit first doin' what we do best: playing hard-hitting anarchist folk music.

We're stupid Americans who don't know shit about Europe and we're looking for contacts (anyone at all, you don't need to be in a band or have a venue or anything) who might be able to help us out.

We've played with folks like Billy Bragg, Anti-Flag, Against Me!, Pete Seeger, David Rovics, etc.

You can hear lots of free mp3s at http://www.riotfolk.org plus read reviews and learn more about what we do.

So yeah, if yer from Ireland or the UK and you like music and hate governments, get in touch.
