An article in The Irish Times (Wed. Nov. 6th) reports that for the first time Ireland will be taking part in a Nato Summit. The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Cowen will head a 'high-level' delegation to the summit which takes place in Prague on the 20th and 21st of November. The last NATO Summit was held in Washington during 1999, this time around, discussions are to be based around 'a military response to terrrorism'. No doubt this involves fine tuning the plans to bomb, invade and then take over Iraq. With all permanent members of the United Nations security council expected to pass plans later this week to allow a U.S. led attack on Iraq the prospect of war looks imminent. In light of unfolding events and to highlight Irelands participation a protest will be held in Sligo on Thurs 21st of Nov. to coincide with the NATO summit ... read full story / add a comment
