Well, I was desperate for it I can tell you, I've never had any cheques like it and I didn't feel guilty, even when everyone found out." ... read full story / add a comment

In Madrid, Chiefs of State and government officials of Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean are metting 17-18 of May to celebrate the good progress of their business and their global economy; to compensate the support, the free hand and the sympathy of "leaders" from the other side of the Atlantic; to feast on the profits achieved by the neoliberal policies imposed by the centre upon the periphery: the profits of Telefonica, Deustche Telecom, Repsol, Endesa, BBVA... The cops, feds, guards or whatever you like to call them are using the satirical magazine the Slate as proof that violent confrontation was pre-meditated and organised for May the sixth. Representatives from their representative association have been all over the media spouting this limp line. They have encountered no direct opposition on this specific. They don't get it (surprise). And even if they do they won't because they don't want to and they're floundering, grasping for an escape hatch. ... read full story / add a comment
