Paris indymedia attacked by French minister of the interior.

Hortefeux the minister of the interior (= to minister of justice or home secretary) has found a new enemy now that Romanians, women in veils & Africans are old hat.
Yep.
Paris indymedia is according to him an anti-police website which facilitates the indentification of serving police officers thus leading to their general ostracisation & probably unpopularity.
Nice to think in the times of wikileaks that an IMC site (Paris) can still get the judgers foaming at their commercial press bits. I doubt that this is really an issue for most police or "flics" as they are known to the French. & being a regular reader of http://www.paris.indymedia.org I kind of find myself surprised that any member of Gallic plod could worry that they are identifiable & up for community shaming from the selection of protest photographs & videos.....
For if one thing we on the left know...........................
The police do like to suit up for their rucks & leave the nicities of individualistic fashion behind.
Theirs is indeed the garb of paramilitary terror.
anyway............
maybe this story will get worse
so it's worth filing away on indymedia ireland's "other press" section.

(as usual the photos are kind of old - I'm sure the cops have grown older, balded, filled out & generally waxed in to their middle life appearance since).
There are parallels between this case & the recent moves by the Spanish state to criminalise the anarcho-site "Kaos en la Red" http://www.kaosenlared.net/ accusing it of fomenting "anti-system" rioteers following the battleship potemkin scenes during the last general strike in the Spanish state which occured to great general angst & delight in Barcelona (c/f http://www.indymedia.ie/article/97786 )
Sarkozy's hard minister of Justice plans on closing French Indymedia.
All the right wing nazi-style trash are revealing themselves through the simple freedom of the web.
No wonder they want to introduce regulations, rules, censorship and every other form of repression they are currently passing in the names of 'freedom' and 'safety'.
