The march was energetic, colourful and noisy, with lots of flags, banners and chanting. The march route was from Emmet Place in front of the Opera House to Daunt Square via Patrick Street. A banner from the Cork Social Welfare Defenders led off the march at about 5:15 p.m. At the conclusion of the march, there were speeches from local political figures, local campaign members and Noel Murphy of the IWU. |
