We are calling on everyone in Cork City to gather at the gates of the Peace Park at 6pm and join the Peace Train which will travel around the city and end at the Roundy Bar at 7pm for the screening of the film, Soldiers of Peace. We will be dancing and singing our way through the Christmas crowds, bringing joy and peace to all we meet. Dress fancy, dress as Santa, wear wigs, be colourful, come any way you want, bring noise makers, drums, bells, your voice, your smile, your friends… There’s space for everything the imagination is capable of conceiving. Let’s light up the streets of Cork City with peace, love, reconciliation and FUN!!!! Get on the PEACE TRAIN!
Following the film Soldiers of Peace in the Roundy we will be forming a living peace sign in Daunt Square. We will light up the night sky with peace and with the help of some glowsticks!!!
The Roundy Bar will be accepting toys, games, puzzles and books for the children of NASC (the Irish Immigrant Support Centre which is a Non-Governmental organisation that seeks to respond to the needs of immigrants, refugees and asylum-seekers) from 1pm until closing time on Sunday, 13 December. Some children have experienced obscene amounts of hate, anger and violence before their first birthday, let’s show them some of the love, and help make their Christmas joyous and magical, as it should be! Thank you to the Roundy for their incredible support and for opening their doors to the World March for Peace and Non Violence.
