No rest for the wicked on the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday
Last Friday, same as on all the preceding Fridays the past five years, Bil'in villagers marched to the nearby Apartheid Wall to protest against the theft of over 60% of their land to facilitate the construction of a monstrous affront to international and humanitarian law and the illegal Israeli colonies skulking behind it.
Last Friday, same as on all the preceding Fridays for the past five years, the peaceful protestors were assaulted, this time, with unremitting blizzards of tear gas and percussion "sound" bombs with dozens of the marchers severly distressed from tear gas inhalation - thanking the good lord for small mercies, as it were, there were no high velocity tear gas projectiles used, "rockets" of the lethal kind that was fired point blank into the chest of Bassem Abu-Rahma last April 17th smashing three of his ribs one of which punctuted his heart thus killing, murdering him.
The protest was graced with the affable presence of Dr. Jack Nusan Porter, human rights activist, former lecturer of social science at Boston University and rabbi. Born in the deep forests of Rivne, Ukraine in 1944 where the partisan group his Polish parents fought with against the Nazis used as bases, Jack was active in the "moderate wing" of Students for a Democratic Society (the "terrorist" Weather Underground being the "immoderate wing") and "led a controversial Jewish outreach program to native Key Westers known as “Conchs”, northeastern U.S. “Snowbirds”, Miami’s Jewish, Cuban, and intermarried “Jewban” populations, transvestites, gay and lesbian parishioners" (Related Link).
