Thur 26th Nov - IPSC Dublin Discussion Evening: NGOs and the De-politicisation of the Palestinian Struggle
7.30pm, Upstairs in Connolly Books, 43 East Essex Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
The latest of our monthly discussion evenings: The Oslo Accords heralded a huge input of Western foreign aid that subsequently played a role in the mushrooming of non-governmental-organisations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The resultant 'NGO-isation' of the Palestinian struggle has had visible ramifications on the de-politicisation of this struggle as well as the neutralisation of a large class of Palestinians who are employed by these NGOs. This discussion evening will assess the impacts of NGOs on the Palestinian struggle in particular, as well as the implications that NGO-isation has on social movements in general.
The discussion will be introduced by Anaheed Al Hardan of the Dublin branch of the IPSC, who is currently a PhD candidate in Trinity College Dublin, specialising in the subject of Palestinian Refugees and the Palestinian Diaspora (of which she is a member).
The IPSC Discussion evenings provide an informal forum for IPSC members and supporters in the Dublin area to discuss issues relating to Palestine. All are welcome.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances Anaheed will not be able to make the discussion evening tomorrow night, so we have to cancel. We will hopefully do it again in the near future. Apologies.
