Workplaces March to November 6th Protest venues

category national | worker & community struggles and protests | opinion/analysis author Thursday October 29, 2009 01:22author by Paul Kinsella - Variousauthor email paulbkinsella at gmail dot comauthor address 53 Lorcan Grove, Santry, Dublin 9, Ireland.author phone 00353-85-1478100 Report this post to the editors

Let's Have Lots of these on November 6th

It would be great That, When Whole Workplaces Come Out on the Day Of Action on November 6th, if they March En Masse from their Workplace to the Protest venues. This has happened before on the PAYE Tax Marches for example. Of course, I'm not suggesting that those working far out in the suburbs such as Coolock or Tallaght, or those working outside the Provincial Centres March into town. They should charter buses and car pool, as it Seems Very Likely that Public Transport Will Stop At Least for Several Hours on November 6th.

But it would be great if those Working in Locations Close to the Protest venues, such as the Poolbeg Power Generating Plant, Connolly and Heuston Train Stations, those Bus Eireánn/Dublin Bus Garages close to town, such as Broadstone, Bus Arás, Conygnham Road, Phibsboro and Summerhil, the Docks, the GPO, Hospitals, such as Holles Street, the Mater and St. James, those Colleges, Schools and Universities nearby, such as Trinity College, to name, but a few of the Many Workplaces that Are Coming Out En Masse on November 6th, if they then All Marched Together to the Assembly Point at The Garden Of Rememberance, Parnell Square, and if the same happens at the other Protest venues as well.

Some Workplaces are probably doing this anyway, but it would be great to Have Lots of Workplaces Walking Out En Masse, and Marching Together to the various Protest venues around the country. These will involve the Local Communities even more in the November 6th Protests, and get a much broader range of people taking part on the 6th. It's vitally important to spread it out beyond Workers, to Include All Those On Social Welfare, the Community Sector, and Hospital and Patient Groups, As We're All getting hammered already, and We'll All be hammered a Billion Times More After the December 9th Budget if we don't put manners on this Government Now.
