Address from Noel Dempsey to the Party Conference- full text

category national | anti-capitalism | other press author Thursday March 05, 2009 12:51author by Drodzhe Report this post to the editors

They are calling him Noel Trotsky now

Here is the full text of Noel Dempsey's speech to the Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis, in which he explains that -

-Fianna Fáil had no idea that bankers, builders and developers were running wild with the possibilities of the unregulated economy.

-If they had known about the corruption and endemic and dishonesty, they would have done something about it, but just because these people were funding their election campaigns, playing golf with them, loaning them their holiday homes etc, does not mean that they were aware of where the money was coming from.

-It could be much worse.

-It will get worse.

Full text of Noel Dempsey's speech at link.
:
Friends, tonight is one of the most important nights in Fianna Fáil's history.

Each one of us here knows why. Each and every one of us knows the human truth of the collapse of the global economy. The families under extreme pressure. The constituents who have played by the rules, done the hard yards and can't believe what's happened to them.

They can't believe it, and it fills them with anger. Deep, deep anger. Much of that anger is directed at us. And it will continue to be directed at us.

Ireland has been swamped by a global disaster that has been greatly complicated, on the home front, by economic treason..

This stinks to high heaven, this is Walter Mitty at its finest.
Do F/Fail NOT realise the gombeen men left a long time ago.

The only Gombeen men that are left are those who still believe that F/Fail are the true blues.

This is a state of denial, and disillusion.

Get real, the truth, and reality hurts.
