Day of Action for Tara

Tuesday 3rd March 09

Non Violent Direct Action against M3

Peaceful Protest :)

Despite worldwide opposition and EU Legislation, the illegal constuction of the M3 motorway through Tara is still ongoing.

We are calling for the people of Galway, the county of the Tribes, to come and show their support, to see the Tara Skryne Valley as it is now. Despite the scarring already inflicted at Tara, one of the MOST ARCHAEOLOGICALLY SIGNIFICANT LANDSCAPES in the world, it is still a beautiful place steeped in ancient history, folklore and living traditions.

Archaeological discoveries of global significance have been destroyed, and the information misrepresented and lost, despite international law, and the investigations of the World Archaeological Congress 08. THIS LOSS WILL BE FELT IN IRELAND FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.

We call on the Irish people to show that their CULTURE, IDENTITY, AND HERITAGE IS NOT FOR SALE to multinational construction companies, and to show their support for the Meath Master Plan, a more economically, environmentally, and culturally cost effective alternative.
