After a long and happy life kicking against the pricks, our friend and comrade Bob Doyle has passed on. Family members and friends from Spain, Germany and Britain will come to Dublin on Saturday 14th February when we will celebrate the lives of Bob and his comrades of the International Brigades. |

Jump To Comment: 1 2The BBC broadcast a piece on Bob last Friday, with interview fragments and reminiscences from Bob and his family.
It's the last item on the link below...
The turnout today was far more than I imagine was expected, if the crammed room in Liberty Hall was anything to go by! Large groups had travelled over from the U.K and further afield, and marched alongside a fine mix of the Irish left.
One of the wreaths left outside Liberty Hall was signed on behalf of several European Anti-Fascist organisations, and the point was made made again and again by various speakers: As long as one person resists fascism, the fight goes on.
There was a fine mix of speeches and musical pieces at the reception, including a resounding sing-song of the Internationale. A fine send off, nice to see Bob come home to Dublin and I think everyone there today will remember the day with fondness. I don't want to even take a guess at the numbers to be honest, I'll leave that to others.
No Pasaran!
