Generally, anything Eoghan Harris says, Tom will then faithfully parrot.
Here is a sample, his view of the late unlamented McCain-Palin ticket (he put up a nice picture of Sarah as well.)
Sunday, 14 September 2008
Which is the more balanced, diverse and experienced ticket ?
Lets look at 5 comparisons.
1. The McCain-Palin ticket offers 66 years of public service experience, against 46 years from Obama-Biden, BUT 39 of those are in only ONE organ, the US Senate.
Insiders ?
2. Obama-Biden offers NO executive experience whatsoever - at any level.
3. McCain, as a Navy Commander, was XO and then CO of a US Navy Squadron, after his release from Vietnam, while most of Palin's experience, 9 years, has been executive - at City, quasi-judicial [ Alaska Oil and Gas Commissiom ] and at State Governor levels.
4. McCain has 53 years public service [ 27 in uniform and 26 elected ] which is 6 years longer than Obama has been alive.
5. McCain has 26 years elected at Federal level, [ plus Senate involvement as a Navy Capt while serving as US Navy liaison ] but Obama has only 4 years at that level.
Any doubt which ticket is the more diverse, balanced as well as experienced one ?
And which is the narrow, conventional, insider ticket ?
But even more crucial to my mind is that Palin and McCain always talk of VICTORY in Iraq [ over Jihadi beheaders and mosque-bombers ], but Obama talks of WITHDRAWL [be it with or without victory ].
Imagine FDR in June, 1944, as brave Americans liberated Nazi-occupied Europe, talking of withdrawl, instead of victory - Obama and the rest of his neo-Dem ilk, betray the honorable past of their own Democratic Party, as well as the long and ongoing record of US freedom-fighters, and the brave peoples of Iraq.
Can Obama naively imagine that if the Jihadis are allowed to win, and the Tigris River runs red with innocent Iraqi blood, like Cambodia was when the Khmer Rouge took over in 1975, and made TUOL SLENG their Auschwitz, that this is tolerable, or even that the Jihadis will stop there ?
Or does he really care ?
Or will Obama be smugly satisfied just as long as innocent Iraqi blood will never pollute San Francisco Bay, or the Hudson ?
Can HIS America really be The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave ?
Did he ever learn that, from the Tigris to the Hudson, we are Free only because of the Brave ?

Here is the story of someone calling himself 'Tom Carew', pretending to have been in the SAS and engaging in the fight for the western way (from the Tigris to the Hudson and all that).

Maybe the Irish version is also a fake (as well as a flake). Only time and Tom can tell.
I just had a listen to Tom McGurk re link above and I'am trying to stay very balanced on my input, but this guy Carew? he certainly was very much out of his depth, he most certainly is in the highest form of denial, his input was totally that of a mouthpiece, he must have spent a very long time hanging around the street corners as that is where he picked up his bits and pieces as that is just exactly what they are. Tom McGurk is obviously very much the gentleman, but he's a cute hoor he gave him plenty of rope and he did hang himself. Anyone who listened to the programe who were possibly leaning towards Israel they must be in the Pals camp now. Watching Al-Jazera and listening to him his figures and mine are strangely very different and I have been watching from day one. This is not a WAR but collective punishment on the Palestinian people, there are Israeli election issues involved, there is also ethnic cleansing, and there are also War crimes, these are numerous but one I would like to mention is the RESEARCH weapon (DIME) of course it has been the policy of the US who manufacture these WMD,s to use Lebanon, Iraq, Afghastain, and now Gaza to test these out. This guy was no SAS man they wouldent have him, sorrry they have said that already, and to use the phrase "nine of our guys" who were killed in the Congo when he was trying to make the point on proportionality i feel was very disgusting to say the least. He should have used his IDF friends to make his point, instead of the well respected Irish Army who are recognised troughout the world for their trojan work, unlike the IDF.
Another Manchurian Candidate.
The numbers are of no consequence, proportionality is a 'peculiar itch for parity'.

The racist, fascist, anti-Semitic British National Party have come out in support of the 'Anglo-Irish' Kevin Myers - who has been writing increasingly aggressive articles targeting non-white immigrants to Ireland.
The supporter of the GDI (Greatest Dead Irishman), Conor Cruise O'Brien - scourge of Irish republicans and Palestinians alike - has got into trouble with the Irish Press Council before? Have they the guts to take him on again? What are the consequences for inciting hatred and being associated with fascists - there are none for writing right-wing gibberish.
Supporter of Zionism, supported by fascists – some ‘achievement’ for the Conor Cruise O’Brien supporter.
It is in the Phoenix 16 January 2009
This link explains Myers’ leaving the Irish Times in a cloud – will the same one gather over Independent House?

Kevin Myers - the BNP connection (Phoenix 16 January 2009)
Writing to the papers as "Friends of Israel" but on his blog as Friends of the IDF.
Wonder why he never mentions that in the letters pages?
Today's Phoenix has an interesting take on how his Irish PR soundbytes differ from what he blogs abotu elsewhere.
on Page 4, the Phoenix quotes him as "The proportionate forces are whatever it takes to conquer them thoroughly and put an end to their capacity to attack Israel" and mentioned that he says the Germans and Japanese had not repeated their aggression since ww2 because they suffered heavy casualties. before quoting again "by any standard Gaza Arabs have suffered little - so far .... Let's hope and pray that this Israeli government has learned these brutal lessons from history , adn that they IDF will be allowed to finish the job in Gaza"
