Dublin - Event Notice Thursday January 01 1970 Campign meeting for a No vote on national pay deal![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Open meeting to plan campaign against deal. A meeting to co ordinate a campaign against the proposed national pay deal will take place in the Teachers Club Parnell Sq Dublin at 730pm next Monday 6th Oct. It is organised by a number of well known union activists lincluding Eddie Conlon of the TUI, Owen McCormack a NBRU activist and Des Derwin a long time campaigner in SIPTU. The meeting is open to all to discuss how best to maximise a no vote across workplaces on this deal. The proposed pay deal if accepted will mean a savage attack on workers pay, effectively it is a pay cut at a time of surging prices and increasing mortages. As well as a 11 month pay freeze in the public service it contains clauses which mean any subsequent pay increase is dependent on productivity and could potentially be stopped. It makes it more likely that our unions will accept even more attacks like privatisation and massive redundancies. |
