The Old Head of Kinsale - A good walk spoiled

Singer / Songwriters John Spillane and Mick Flannery are to perform live at Cork's newest music venue the Pavillion Bar in Patrick Street on August 6th as a fundraiser for the Free the Old Head of Kinsale campaign.

Contrary to reports in a weekend supplement in the Irish Examiner, the long running campaign to restore public access to the Old Head of Kinsale is alive and well and looking forward to its long-awaited court challenge on the issue of public access which we hope will come up this Autumn.

The gig will start at 9pm on August 6th.

(see link below and previous Old Head of Kinsale stories on Indymedia for full details of the campaign).

I attended the gig last night

A tremendous success with big turnout and enthusiastic patrons.

Must say it proves much wind left in the sails of the campagain after all.

The music itself was of a high quality and very enjoyable .

Looks like the new look Pavilion will be a great attraction in Cork

for some time to come.

Fair play to the tenacious Old Heads who continue the fight to reclaim our precious Old Head in Kinsale.....Gig on Wed should be great....................Thanks to John Spillane, Mick Flannery and all concerned...... Along with those musical treasures, we can also look forward to some fairly charged performance poetry by the silver tongued Bard ,the one and only...................................... Diarmuid O' Dalaigh......................................A NIGHT NOT TO BE MISSED

Keep it up folks - this administration wants a privatised Ireland that belongs to its shareholders, not its citizens.
