PRESS CONFERENCE
Monday July 21st, 11am
Unite Offices Boardroom,

Campaign Against the EU Constitution – NO to Lisbon Treaty
www.sayno.ie
French President Nicolas Sarkozy says the Lisbon Treaty, rejected by France, Holland and now Ireland, must be implemented. The Campaign Against the EU Constitution and its European supporters reject Sarkozy’s bully-boy tactics and say No means No !
We will not take orders from a man who admits the French would reject Lisbon again if they had the chance. This anti-democratic militarist wants more European military spending – rejected in the Lisbon vote – and supports an Israeli attack on Iran. CAEUC and its European allies oppose Sarkozy’s politics and call for a full public debate on Europe’s future in which the opinions and concerns of all its citizens take centre stage.
Speakers at the press conference on July 21st are:
Tobias Pflueger, MEP, Germany’s Die - Linke Party, member of the European Parliament Committee of Foreign Affairs and the sub-committee on Security & Defence.
Francois Delapierre, member of the French Socialist Party and leading militant in the successful NO Campaign in France
Thomas Herreng, Attac France, member of Attac's Europe commission and of the workshop on the Common Agricultural Policy
Siegfried Bernhauser, Attac Austria
Joe Higgins, Socialist Party and CAEUC
Patricia McKenna, People’s Movement and CAEUC
Chair: Roger Cole, Peace and Neutrality Alliance and CAEUC
Press Inquiries: Brendan Young 085 7131903; CAEUC office: 01-8727912

Will he and more importantly media, be at Govt buildings. It was on news yesterday it will be Farmleigh where Sarly and the action will be.
Surely Mr Sarkozy -- and his elitist clique/s of associates -- realise by now that a re-run of the Lisbon Treaty referendum in the Republic of Ireland would almost certainly produce an even bigger NO vote than the one held on June 12th last?
That being the case, might the REAL purpose of his visit be to try and bully (or bribe) our senior "public servants" into accepting the Lisbon Treaty without a referendum?
Many (possibly all?) of our senior "public servants" of course might not need much bullying (if any) to go along with such a scheme?
Also, Mr Sarkozy has got an excellent excuse for forwarding and pushing such a plan: i.e. "to bring the Republic of Ireland into line with the rest of Europe".
Extremely dangerous times ahead maybe for Bunreacht na hEireann (Constitution of the Republic of Ireland), and the millions of people it has so usefully protected so far?
"To be forewarned is to be forearmed."
Thanks largely to the PPP (Public Private Partnership) schemes of recent years, which of course include the M3 "Tara" fiasco for example, Bunreacht na hEireann (Constitution of the Republic of Ireland) is well on the way to being fully decommissioned anyway -- though few seem to realise this cleverly concealed fact at the present time.
One more successful push at this stage from Mr Sarkozy and his many like-minded elitist associates, and it's gone.
"They" know that; but, do we (the people of the Republic of Ireland) know it? -- and will enough of us wake up to the crucially important implications and ramifications of losing our hard-won Constitution: before it's too late?
Hi, I've just read this in Fil-info -France this morning:
Le président de la République Nicolas Sarkozy a officiellement convoqué le Parlement en Congrès (Assemblée nationale et Sénat) à Versailles lundi 21 juillet à 15 heures pour se prononcer sur le projet de réforme de la Constitution.
Which translates:
The president of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy offically convened the paralement "en Congrès" ( the national assembly and the senate) to Verseilles, Monday 21st July at 3'oclock to give his verdit on the projet of the reform of the constitution.
So is he doing a double or what?....
By the way these changes to the French Consitation just push democracy further into shit pile.....
In an effort to try and make him aware of some of our concerns before he gets here, and thereby make his trip more useful hopefully, an e-mail has been sent today to European Union & French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
A copy of the e-mail used can now be viewed at: http://www.humanrightsireland.com/PresidentSarkozy/18Ju...l.htm .
As can be seen at the above address, the e-mail in question was copied to 3 senior police officers, and this was done mostly because of concerns regarding the "Global Security Fund", and the possibility that part of this allegedly huge Brussels-based "slush fund" will be used for bribing purposes (of one kind or another) to get the Lisbon Treaty fully and firmly established as soon as possible (if not sooner!!). More on this particular "security fund", and all the amazing crime that is allegedly connected with it, can be found via Google links such as (for example): http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=Global+Security+...meta= .
Today's e-mail was also copied to several members of the "mainstream media", and this was done in an effort to try and limit the amount of grossly dishonest and misleading "spin" that the worst offenders amongst them can sensibly attempt to apply to President Sarkozy's visit to Dublin this coming Monday: assuming of course that Mr Sarkozy has not changed his schedule (as some reports now seem to suggest).
If the protest on Monday at the French Embassy is confined to Indymedia publicity and the Left, it will be small and unrepresentative of the people.
Sarcozy will see the small protest from the Embassy, note well that it is small, and with great satisfaction too !
He will return to France more convinced than ever that he can easily overturn the verdict of the Irish People !
Better no protest at all than one of the usual unremarkable and ill-attended protests of the miniscule Irish Left :-)
Of course the referendum was won by the Left, or so they think.
Dream on...
Regarding your above comment:
"Bunreacht na hEireann (Constitution of the Republic of Ireland) is well on the way to being fully decommissioned anyway",
I would like to know where exactly does our Government - all THREE of the main branches of our Government that is (Executive, Legislative, and Judicial) -- stand at the present time regarding our Constitution?
I note that it has been put to Prime Minister Brian Cowen TD (some weeks before the Lisbon Treaty Referendum) that "The Constitution has been hijacked" -- see at http://www.humanrightsireland.com/PrimeMinisterCowen/9M...l.htm
Also, why is it that nobody seems to be investigating the "Global Security Fund" (referred to at the above address) which Mr Ashley Mote MEP has very publicly raised in the European Parliament? -- and which he has further alleged is a Brussels based "slush fund" (under the patronage of Lord Jacob Rothschild) that it is being used for "geopolitical engineering purposes".
Then there's all the reports of the European Union failing to present any proper account of its spending for the past 10 YEARS or more?
I wonder if Mr Sarkozy (during his present six-month period as "European Union President") will be spending any of his time considering corruption in the EU?
Perhaps somebody will ask him on Monday?
With apologies to the anti-circus protesters.
Cirque Sarkozy coming to Dublin July 21st
In a situation like this the size of the protest is not important, we are not going to get masses of people to it, the critical thing is that we represent and speak for on this issue, the majority, who cast their vote in relation to amending our Constitution.
In these critical times why must we not lsten to an understandable version of proposed
Lisbon treaty 2.?
We must now open our minds and not allow the NO CAMP to blind us with science.
Never count your chickens etc.

Michael Bradshaw asks why not listen to the arguments for Lisbon 2? The answer to that is simple, there is no Lisbon 2, there will be no Lisbon 2 and this is what is coming from Sarkozy, Cowen and the rest of the EU establishment, not the No camp (as you call them). There will be no Lisbon 2, merely Lisbon 1 to be voted on again and the reason why I and many others will not listen is because that Treaty was rejected firmly by the people of this state in a democratic referendum.
Am I right in thinking that while followers of the SWP, PBP and the IAWM are outside 'opposing the Sarko visit' that their leader RBB is inside supporting it? How does that work?
Well I saw RBB in the crowd protesting, so he was certainly there for a period.
RBB was certainly at the protest. He delivered a speech, the length of which Castro would have envied.
A lot of fisherfolk and farmers were also present. Including a nasty bunch from Limerick IFA who had a (real) pigs head on a placard. The placard also reffered to Mandelson making a "pigs ear" of the WTO talks. Make of that what you will.
Looking forward to seeing further photo's. It was a disgrace the chicken pen space the protestors were "given".
