Limerick - Event Notice Thursday January 01 1970 Talk on Banning Cluster Bombs at the University of Limerick![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Amnesty International in association with the UL Peace Society is hosting a public talk on banning Cluster Bombs at the University of Limerick on Wednesday 7th May at 3pm in room C0070. This event is part of a nationwide tour organized by the Cluster Munitions Coalition Ireland (CMC). The coalition is a group of Irish non-governmental organizations working to achieve a new international treaty to ban cluster munitions by the end of 2008. Irish Citizens have a unique opportunity to influence this process as the Department of Foreign Affairs is hosting ‘The Dublin Diplomatic Conference on Cluster Munitions’. This major international conference will take place in Croke Park on the 19th – 30th of May. More than 100 countries are expected to attend and to participate in a Cluster Munitions treaty negotiation. |
