The Union leadership of Unite and the TUC need to resolve this issue now!. It is a disgrace that these people should be treated in this shabby manner by the leadership of Unite.
It would seem that like my own Union PCS they are content to take the subs from the members and sit in thier nice offices on the phone scoffing tea & buns while trade union members are routinely victimised bullied and discriminated against. The leadership of Unite have no backbone they are spinleless cowards and little better than management lackies for allowing Union members to be treated like this.
These men deserve the support of every Union and every Union member and all people who support equality and justice in the workplace. I will be contacting my Union leadership Via E-Mail to make them aware of this case and I will be requesting that they state clearly thier postion in relation to this case. I suggest that all Union Members do the same.
Sorry for short notice, a lunchtime picket of the Dublin ATGWU office has been organised for 1pm. If anyone is working around the Middle Abbey Street/O'Connell Street area, please come by even if its only for 10 minutes
Unite Regional Secretary and long standing member of the SWP, Jimmy Kelly asked the PSNI to arrest the workers. What is this outrageous scabbing by the SWP? Have they made any statement in reference to this issue?
just a couple of pics of today's lunchtime picket outside the ATGWU office in Dublin
Despite the very short notice over 50 people attended a lunchtime rally outside Transport House in Belfast to hear the latest developments in the airport workers struggle and to hear their reply to the lies from Jimmy Kelly and UNITE. Pics will be posted soon.
Disgracefully, the PSNI were called yet again and we were threatened with arrest for standing on the steps of the building!
More info will be posted soon.
I don't quite see the point of posting the story about a picket if you don't provide a link to the whole story.
What started this? On what supposed grounds were they sacked etc.

I am ashamed that Unite, of which I am a member, is not supporting the sacked workers and has allowed the situation to escalate to this critical situation for the men and their families. It reminds us of 1981. I would also say that there has been no visible coverage of the plight of the sacked activists in London - I picked this up during the week on BBC NI. If any officials or executive of Unite read these notes, then please unite, assist the sacked workers and bring this to an end before it ends in tragedy. The leadership of Unite is bringing shame on the trade union movement.
I think there is great Shame on Unite leadership. But also on the self-styled Socialist Workers' Party who have said and done nothing about their member Jimmy Kelly being a total scab and right-winger in this dispute. Expel him!
