Watch 20 minutes of thinking clearly and sensibly:
William McDonough: The wisdom of designing Cradle to Cradle
Architect and designer William McDonough asks what our buildings and products would look like if designers took into account "All children, all species, for all time." A tireless proponent of absolute sustainability (with a deadpan sense of humor), he explains his philosophy of "cradle to cradle" design, which bridge the needs of ecology and economics. He also shares some of his most inspiring work, including the world's largest green roof (at the Ford plant in Dearborn, Michigan), and the entire sustainable cities he's designing in China.

seeing is believing/cradle to cradle
“Cradle to cradle” is a concept that was created, separately, by the Swiss industrial analyst Walter Sathel, on the one hand, and by the American architect William McDonough and the German chemist Michael Braungart on the other.
The “cradle to cradle” concept is a revolutionary approach to redesigning mankind’s industrial system based on the conviction that careful design at the initial stages of any project, inspired by the regenerative, healthy productivity of natural models is capable of creating an industry that sustains and provides a balance between the social, environmental and economic aspects inherent in any human activity.
The goal is to achieve maximum value (social, environmental and economic) through intelligent design.

"The Hidden Connections: Integrating the Biological, Cognitive, and Social Dimensions of Life Into a Science of Substainability", by fritjof capra
Capra posits that in order to sustain life in the future, the principles underlying our social institutions must be consistent with the organization that nature has evolved to sustain the "web of life." In a lucid and convincing argument, Capra explains how the theoretical ideas of science can be applied to the practical concerns of our time. Covering every aspect of human nature and society, he discusses such vital matters as the management of human organizations, the challenges and dangers of economic globalization, and the nature and the problems of biotechnology. He concludes with an authoritative, often provocative plan for designing ecologically sustainable communities and technologies as alternatives to the current economic globalization.

i would have liked to be on the parade today. I support the cause but I live in Wexford. Driving to Dublin to protest against climate change would be nonsense.
We have to find ways of protesting that do not endanger the climate.
All Suggestions Welcome
