Public talk and discussion
Eurig Scandrett, head of community action at FoE Scotland for 15 years,
is now setting up a degree in social justice at Queen Margaret University,
Edinburgh for people active in social movements. He will be giving a
public talk and discussion on this experience at NUI Maynooth.

Dr Eurig Scandrett is Lecturer in Sociology at QMU and has worked for
15 years in adult education and community development, most recently as
head of community action for Friends of the Earth Scotland, where he
developed courses for environmental justice activists. He is now
developing a degree in social justice for people active in communities,
trade unions and voluntary organisations, in collaboration with social
movement organisations.

This initiative is related to the development of a new BA in Politics
at NUI Maynooth with a specific focus on "active citizenship", meaning
things like community activism, new social movements, trade unions and
other forms of bottom-up political action.
