And Again Physical intimidation under Litter Laws......

Tara Campaigner intimidated and bullied by DCC staff

Two weeks ago, Hugh Mc Laughlin (artist and comic-maker) was handing out little
Tara Vigil Leaflets on the streets of Dublin. He was approached by a member of
Dublin City Council Litter Service 'Operatives' and asked to move on or he would be
prosecuted and/or fined under litter laws. He gave out the leaflets and refused to be
bullied. The gardai were called. The Gardai did not prosecute nor did they take his name.
Cos he wasn't doing anything wrong.

And again the bogey of DCC refusing to understand and admit of the democratic right to
free speech, to advertise protest- to overstep the bureaucratic bounds by isolating
individual activists and threatening them with the 'Law'.

DCC were going to continue the litter ban- which had been brought in under
EU presidency, along with the vagrancy laws to 'Clean up' Dublin.

It has been a while now since political groups have complained on this site
about posters been ripped down and dumped, but you can see them torn
and vandalised with meeting times excised all over the place.

Hugh is willing to discuss the incident with the authorities, or better still
go on film and relate the incident. The council workers seem to rely on people
citizens of this city not being aware of their rights when they publically isolate
and attempt to strong arm people. It's not an acceptable state of affairs.

The leaflet is3'x5' inches and is a cartoon and celtic patterning with information
and phone numbers on it. It's black and white and printed on two sides.
it tells of the ongoing monday morning protest and blockade.

If you go into dublin of a saturday night the amount of colour fliers and
commercial freebies handed out and littered on the streets is a sight
to behold- but political advertising is deliberately and consciously
mitigated against by the workers of DCC, using both intimidation
and the Gardai.

The issue of freedom of opinon and communicating it to others seems
beyond the ken of those who put on the blue suit and the little badge.

Several weeks ago the animal rights people had a petition on Grafton Street and were questioned, names and addresses by the Gardai. An informed citizen advised them to ask any future investigators in blue uniform as to the title of the legislation under which they were asking such questions. This the activists did and as suggested to them used a copy of the Constitution as a support pad as they prepared to write, making sure that the law man saw the copy of said Constitution. The questions dissolved and the law man rapidly disappeared. Might not always work but DCC and the cops are out of line big time in interfering with protected rights to communicate information to fellow men and women of this REEPUBLIC.

PS : I see the animal rights people have gone over to fly postering all that "BLOOD MONEY" being earned by up market Brown Thomas on the quality street in the capital city of the REEPUBLIC.

"Happy the city where citizens obey" - This is Dubln's motto and DCC seem to have taken it to heart!

Why not update to something a little more modern. Rage Against The Machine (band from the 80's and 90's) springs to mind. How about: "Fuck you, I won't do what you told me!"?

Any Latin scholars out there willing to translate the above - I'd love to send the proposal to DCC.

Ah! yes. Happy is the City where the Citizens obey. Notice the Crown and sword to whip you into place.
The Dublin Corporation / Dublin City Council act ultra virus from the top down.

This operative is obviously unaware that he was acting beyond his capacity as a litter warden or whatever. He believes the lies his bosses tell him.

Bemused, you seem to accept being told what to do. You would make a good Corpo lackey if not already.

The cops do not have the power to stop anyone erecting Notices in the Streets or disseminating information and fair play to the one who had he cop-on to challenge being told what and what not to do.

The People are the power. This Country is regulated to death already. It is time to put an and to this brainwash.
