This year marks the 35th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday. This year’s commemorative programme has yet to be finalised however one of the main highlights of a series of events will focus on the issue of 'Policing' within the six counties. A debate most believe has yet to happen. |

Jump To Comment: 1As an American who lived on the former Navy Base I am glad to see that you have not forgotten,
as much of the world has, what happened that day terrible day. I still can remember the phone calls, from our Derry friends to stay on the Base as trouble had started. As the reports come in on the
television and radio it was hard to believe that such a thing could be happened. Knowing how I
as an American woman was sometimes treated by the British as I would go to the shops with my child there was no way I could believe that the Irish were in the wrong.
I have had an annual Mass said for the soul's of the victim's and their families on the Anniversary.
It is hard to believe that it has been 35 years. We must remember or as the saying goes History
will repeat it self.
