9 states globally have enacted laws which allow their courts put to trial those accused of genocide. Accordingly June 2003 Spanish Judge Baltasar Garzón jailed Ricardo Miguel Cavallo, (also known as Miguel Angel Cavallo), a former Argentine naval officer, extradited from Mexico to Spain pending his trial on charges of genocide and terrorism relating to the years of Argentina's military dictatorship (1976 to 1983) in which over 9,000 Argentinians and as many as 30,000 disappeared.
Today the Spanish courts ruled that Cavallo may better tried in Argentina. As a result, as of this morning the Argentinian state has 40 days to get their extradition process & papers in order.
he had 2 names but really only one job - & now Argentina will process him for it.

Mr Cavallo was answering charges from a 196-page document oconcerning the torture, disappearance, and execution of 21 people & linked to 227 disappearances and 110 cases of torture, as well as the alleged kidnapping of 16 babies born to women held at a notorious detention centre. For which Judge Garzon had been seeking a prison sentance of between 13,300 & 17,000 years.

This is a timely reminder of the ongoing cases relating to the Pinochet dictatorship & Operation Condor throughout South America.

It also serves to remind us of the long years that the "mothers of the disappeared" held their regular concentrations, something which they discontinued to do in January 2006. c/f http://indymedia.ie/article/73968

In a statement to press their president Hebe de Bonafini, affirmed then :-

"We no longer have an enemy in the houses of government"...."with the changes in South America [the elections of / governments of] Fidel, Chávez, Lula, Tabaré, Bachelet. If we do not see that we are blind, we must defend them" She expressed the opinion that Kirchner's government has offered them the fullest redress possible for the crimes comitted during the Argentine dictatorship(1976-1983) and the near "cover up" in the folowing regime (1983-1989).

The judge Baltazar Garzon is using the argentinian genocide to cover up the fact that he have repressed the basque country by persecuting Batasuna wich is a legitimate european political party.

On other words, Montoneros whould have wanted to see every single argentinian united like the basque people.

To sum up, Garzon: Fuck You!
