Capacity issue resolved - trains from Navan can be faciliated from next year

One of the main reasons given for not reinstating the Navan Clonsilla line in the past was the lack of capacity on the Dublin train network. That issue will be resolved from March 2007 - from that date on capacity for trains from Meath will no longer be an issue.

One of the main reasons given for not reinstating the Navan Clonsilla line in the past was the lack of capacity on the Dublin train network. That issue will be resolved from March 2007 - from that date on capacity for trains from Meath will no longer be an issue.

The Dublin Docklands station was the product of efforts by residents in Dublin 15 to ensure that transport infrastructure was in place before new developments in the area to prevent chronic congestion.

When the new Docklands station opens next March (2007) it will mean different things to different people.

In Dublin 15 (and particular to the Dublin 15 Community Council), it will represent a successful campaign to manage grid-lock in their area.

In Meath, it will mean one less excuse to prevent reinstatement of the Navan Clonsilla railway.
