Dcu fashion show faux pas
Dcu fashion show misleads contributors.
Last year 'Style Society', a society in Dublin City University held a fashion show, advertising that ALL proceeds from the event would go to Crumlin Hospital for sick children.
It has recently come to light that although over ten thousand was raised by the successful event, only five thousand is to be given to Crumlin Hospital.
The event, which cost the coffers of the DCU student body almost 6,500 euros to finance, was hailed a success by all, but now as the monies received in good faith have been halved, the question begs, 'Where did the other five grand go?'
To date no financial records have been shown to the greater student body and 'Style' have only responded by saying that the event was 'in aid of', meaning not all money was promised to Crumlin hospital. A recant of their earlier ALL PROCEEDS claim, prior to the event.
As a second year student I feel answers and apologies should be given to my fellow students and those family and friends who attended the event in good faith.
