The West's moral, spiritual and political decay mirrors the post-totalitarianism of Eastern Europe, says Michael Rainsborough. The difference is today's authoritarianism wears a progressive mask.

Launch of new Shell to Sea leaflet for 2007 Dáil election

TDs, activists, and members of the Rossport community will hand out leaflets at Leinster House

The Shell to Sea campaign has produced a new, glossy, large scale leaflet on the issues of the campaign to be distributed door-to-door in Dublin and other urban areas. The purpose of the leaflet is to highlight the campaign as an election issue, and make sure that people have the facts at hand when they are canvassed by government ministers over the summer months.

On Tuesday 27th June at lunchtime campaigners from Dublin and Rossport will be joined by supporters from political parties outside Leinster House, to hand out the new leaflets and draw attention to the campaign in the week of the first anniversary of the imprisonment of the Rossport Five.

Details: 1PM Tuesday 27/06 at the Kildare Street Entrance to Leinster House.

Whatever people think of elections, it has to be admitted that they concentrate the minds of unpopular governments.

Sending out a leaflet around the country will raise the profile of the campaign and ensure that government TD's have to come clean on whether they support the scheme. That is, do they support the give-away terms of the deal which mean the Irish people will see no benefit from the huge reserves of oil and gas off our coasts? Do they think it's acceptable that the people of a residential area should have a dangerous, experimental pipeline scheme imposed on them, with the threat of prison if they protest?

Yes Curious, we did read the article in the Sunday Times, and who owns that comic, and where does he live? and which offshore Bank does he invest In? Who does he represent? but aside all this in any movement one will have divisions, that is why the Nation is calling on Politicians to Represent Them.We wait in antisipation for their Manefestos, if they were awake in the first place there wouldnt be any Division. If I wasnt so dumb they wouldnt Shine. I leave you with this, I know of six wise men who have taught me everything that I ever needed to know, Who? where? Why? What? When? and How? ever watchful, FlynnO Flynn Of Conaught, regards from S Emmet..
