Cheap fags, cheap lives
According to a report in the Sunday Tribune, cheap fags peddled around Ireland have dangerous amounts of chemicals - six times as much lead as in regulated cigarettes and high levels of arsenic.
"Fake cigarettes seized by Customs in the North contained 160% more tar, 80% more nicotine, and 133% more carbon dioxide than genuine cigarettes."
Buying cheap fags today may save a few quid, but the damage being done to your body and those of the people around you is immeasurable. You are almost certainly guaranteeing horrible health problems down the line. Please do yourself and your loved ones, friends and neighbours a favour, and avoid cheap fags if you must smoke. Spread the word - Cheap Fags Kill.
Those peddling the smuggled cigarettes don't care about your health - only making money. At least when you are paying tax on cigarettes some of that money goes towards the health system to take care of you later in a round about way - the money from cheap fags only goes into criminals' pockets!
Spread the word and be wise, cheap fags will make you sick.

Jump To Comment: 1While I agree that this is bad, I think that it's fairly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. One of these "poisonous" cigarettes is roughly equivalent to smoking only two normal cigarettes.
A story on how/why people continue to poison themselves, despite accepted medical advice would be closer to the "real" issue for me, but the only new take on that which hasn't already been widely reported would be on how ancient/eastern philosophers would see it all.
