There will be a launch of the Shouts From the Wall: Posters of the Spanish Civil War, in the John Hewitt bar this coming Sunday 23rd April 2006.
Shouts From The Wall commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War, honouring in particular those from these shores as Irish volunteers in the International Brigade defending the Spanish Republic from the forces of fasicism
With stark images of fists and faces with mouths crying, guns held high, these stunning images spoke of the dangers of the fascist terror and the importance of resistance.
There will be live performances in song poetry and readings, from Pól Mac Adaim, Pól Brady, Victoria Gleason, Gerry McLaughlin, Ciarán Ó Brolcháin, and Mark Anthony.
Doors are open from 7.00pm at £4 per person
All are welcome, this is the latest in a series of fundraising event being held around the town this year in a an effort to rasie monies towards a fitting tribute to these brave Irish Volunteers.
