The Covid Inquiry is Actively Suppressing Scientific Evidence Sun Feb 09, 2025 09:00 | Dr Andrew Bamji
The Covid Inquiry is being led by the wrong experts (lawyers) who are asking the wrong questions of the wrong people. It's not only ignoring scientific evidence but actively suppressing it, says Dr Andrew Bamji.

Is it purely down to the timing of the re-opening? An opportunity to build momentum for your campaign for an investigation? Is Butterly to blame for the shameful fire safety standards of the Stardust?
Cause as Im sure you know there have been different pubs open on the site for years (skellys, silver swan snooker club, and crazy joes)
more details please....
You can hear the relatives talking on the VB Tonight Show (RTE Radio): http://www.rte.ie/radio1/tonightwithvincentbrowne/10805....html

What a pity that the poster of the story to this forum didn't maintain the same dignity that the victim's families and survivors have shown in their protests and comments - therefore the "that bastard" comments makes me wonder if the poster really has any real insight into the matter..
what time is the protest on Saturday? Somebody said to me 10am/10pm could someone confirm that please?
Cheers
A large group of people gathered outside the site of the Stardust tragedy to protest the proposed opening of a new pub on the site. Below are some pics from the protest.

Steve you asked whether Eamonn Butterly was to blame for the events that unfolded the night of the fire...I cant say that for sure as I am not as well acquainted with the findings of the initial enquiry to comment.
But as a 34 year old Dubliner,( who remembers the night of the fire well, and who thanks God every year that a severe bout of Gastric flu kept my Cousin, four of her sisters and her eight aunts (including my mum) out of there, when they had planned to go there to celebrate her hen party night, and who would definately have been among those injured, if not killed.) I think its a shame that the same people who were owners of the complex then, should have the tactlessness to open another nite club/venue/pub on what is, in effect a buriel ground. To me it is akin to Walt Disney opening a funfair on the site of 9/11, not acceptable in other countries, and just because this happened 25 years ago, doesnt make it any easier to bear, and no less wrong... close it down and keep it closed.
A public meeting is being held tonight at 8pm in Le Cheile community Centre, behind Donnycarney Church. PLEASE SHOW SUPPORT FOR THESE FAMILIES. THERE IS A HUGE AMOUNT OF SUPPORT IN THE AREA BUT WE NEED TO KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING, BUTTERLY HAS NOT TRIED TO OPEN AS YET. This meeting will give the families an opportunity to express their views and inform supporters how they wish to progress with this campain. We also hope to discuss ideas people may have to assist organising and uniting the families as they are completely worn out as can be expected after what this "Bastard" has done to their children. All invited and all support requested by Mrs Keegan and her daughter Antoinette. ALL WELCOME

Hi I hope to god that the government watched the primetime programme last week on the Stardust disaster and it took them 25 years of heartache for the families and friends of those innocent people who died and who where injured on that night to get a new enquiry open.
Why hasn't Butterly never being convicted? He should have being charged originally with 48 manslaughter charges and the money the state gave him should have been put towards an proper memorial for the families to go and to show the rest of us what happens when something like that should not happen again.
It makes me sick that after 25 years Butterly doesn't want to show his face in public as I reckon he owes all the families and the injured people from that night a huge apology.
just want to give my support to the familes of the stardust...DONT GIVE UP UNTILL YOU GET JUSTICE. and butterly should hand the site to the familes!
well done on highlighting this greed....we hope you achive justice,,and we also agree,,,butterly,,,hand over the site and let these people REALLY bury their dead... its the least you can do..end the greed now. j & n
Why not protest at the dail??? Your not doing any good outside a pub that bertie never goes near. What is the issue with the pub? Has it not always been there? Its definately not on the exact location of the stardust and now its just a public house for the people of artane to get together. Why not talk to Jason Gamble and try to sort it out with him. He seems to be trying to do a job. Would you prefer to have all those people out of a job because of a 25year old tragedy? Did you every protest when the license was in the last occupiers name?
Concerned,
Why would Jason Gamble be interested in taking over the lease on a pub that has so much tragic history. I am aware that this is not the only pub he has. So what interest does he have with this one??
Ill tell you - pure greed!
