The UK Government is making itself a laughing stock in its use of Snoopers' Charter laws to end Apple's encrypted Advanced Data Protection privacy service. Fortunately, there are alternatives.

Professor Alice Sullivan has completed her review of data collection by public bodies and found that because the word "gender" has started to replace "sex" cancer referrals have been missed and convictions overlooked.

The inside story of the Ryanair flight that nearly went down
ARyanair flight to Rome last year (2005) came close to crashing after a crisis in the cockpit, an internal Ryanair report has revealed. The last-minute actions of a relatively inexperienced co-pilot averted a potential crash.
The plane was approaching Rome's Fiumicino airport in a thunderstorm, when the captain, who was flying the aircraft just days after burying one of his children, suffered something like a temporary breakdown.
The autopilot had been turned off, the plane was being buffeted by the storm and the pilots weren't certain where exactly they were in relation to the runway. ...."

JET NOSEDIVE TERROR
By Don Mackay
A JET skidded off a runway yesterday in heavy snow and ended up nose-down.
The Ryanair Boeing 737 from London Stansted - with 105 passengers and six crew - landed safely at Arhus, Denmark.
But as the plane was turning to taxi to the terminal, it slid on to a grass verge. Passenger Shane Balmer, of Northampton, said: "It ended up with the nose cone in the snow. Everyone was very calm."
Dublin-based Ryanair said: "All passengers were disembarked safely." Engineers pulled the 737 out of snow.

Ok, this might sound daft, but I really have to ask...
Why is it that the majority of Ryan air aircraft appear to taxi twice the speed of everybody else? Am I missing something here?
Just today I witnessed some high speed manouvering on the apron at Leeds.
That Old 737 did'nt look to comfortable coming off the taxi way at such speed, heck knows what the passengers must be thinking!
Certainly the Captain of the Dash 8 on the next stand was unimpressed.
So, Ryan air chaps, whats the deal?
Does it actually save enough time to make it worth the risk?
Thanks in anticipation.

Is safety Ryanair's achilles heel?
http://www.berlingske.dk/rejser/artikel:aid=692734/
I lived with a guy who had a sibling who was a junior pilot for Ryanair. Having had a minor operation under general anaesthetic, within 36 hours Ryanair apparently demanded that the pilot in question should resume flying. They refused, and were sacked. Hmmm. makes you wonder about whether it's worth a saving of a few quid by choosing Ryanair, doesn't it?
Má tá fostaithe Ryanair sásta cur suas lena bhfuil an comhlacht ag caitheamh leo, is orthu fhéin atá an locht . Ó thaobh na bpaisinéirí de, is cuí gach locht idir meicniúil is giúlán a thuairisc is scéal a chur chuig na húdarais cuí.
Ó mo thaobh féin de, is maith liom go bhfuil siad beagchostasach.
also worth noting is that female flight attendants have to wear high heels, which is nasty. and responsible for leg damage.
On a recent flight back from Sweden to London Luton, I found in all it's glory what a pathetic company Ryanair are, who have absolutely no respect for their passengers whatsoever!!
We were on the last flight out of Stockholm and were delayed a couple of hours whilst they struggled to de-ice the plane. Our flight eventually took off and was scheduled to land at approximately 1.15am at Luton. Fifteen minutes from landing the captain comes over the tannoy to tell us that Luton Airport is shut and they have to divert to Stansted!!!
Knowing full well prior to take off that we weren't going to be able to land at Luton, why didn't the captain have the respect to tell us that we were diverting, thus allowing us to get in contact with friends and family who had arranged to pick us up at Luton???
To make matters worse, a Swedish passenger on the flight, expecting to land in Luton, realised he had no way of contacting his girlfriend who was waiting to pick him up!! With no money and mobile he asked Ryanair customer services if he could make a quick phone call from their landline to explain the situation to her and they flatly refused!!!
We were then all shepperded to the arrivals hall to wait for a coach to take us to Luton. After an hour and a half of waiting and no-one telling us what was going on, I had no choice but to get a hire car and drive to Luton myself!!
Not once, did ANYONE from Ryanair apologise for the inconvenience!! I wouldn't fly with that airline again, if they were the last airline in the World!! Absolutely Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!
