FG Senator Frank Feighan has publically called into question the integrity of members of An Bord Pleanala Speaking at a public meeting in Ballyfarnon in County Roscommon on Friday night, Fine Gael Senator Frank Feighan has claimed that members of An Bord Pleanala are under "questionable influence" and appear to be acting as "Eco Warriers in disguise". Senator Feighan's remarks were made in relation to a number of highly controversial hotel and holiday home developments in the north Roscommon. On January 24th, An Bord Pleanala refused to uphold a decision by Roscommon County Council to grant permission for a 100 bedroom hotel and 293 hoiday homes at Lough Key. A further appeal in relation to a 93 bedroom hotel and 98 holiday homes on the shores of Lough Meelagh is currently before An Bord Pleanala and due for decision before March 10th. |
