Dubsky judgement set back to Dec. 9

category national | anti-war / imperialism | news report author Thursday November 03, 2005 20:51author by Michael

The High Court judgement in 'Eoin Dubsky v Government of Ireland' which was due tomorrow, Friday Nov. 4th, has been set back to December 9th.

Ms Justice Macken heard the case in February this year, and indicated that she would have a judgement ready within a month.

The case concerns US military overflights and refueling related to the Afghanistan war. Eoin began the case on September 11th 2002, a few days after he was arrested for spray-painting a US Air Force warplane at Shannon Airport with peace slogans.

The date of the trial was put back many times before it was finally heard. Likewise the judgement has been put back before. There's no telling whether Justice Macken will stick to the December 9th date either. There's no way to force her to stick to any deadline or timeline either.
