Fair play to all for the great work so far. It occured to me when I gave some money and got a sticker outside Croak Park yesterday that the focus (exclusively on Shell) may not be maximising public support. These stickers should read Free the Rossport Five or something like it. To the ordinsry Joe 'Boycott Shell' is meaningless. The real issue is the Government bowing to a multinational. The multinational itself will behave as they all do if given free reign.

I agree with Mick about focus. Indeed seeing as Statoil are really the more practical target (and are substantially controlled by the Norwegian government) I think the propaganda focus should be placed strongly on them. But I guess, shell, ogoni, seven sisters has its reasonance.....

Anyway, I'm not hoing to Rossport this weekend because of another important engagement at Croke Park. I'm well aware that somke consider this a hanging offence but if there was to be soem leafletting, sticker distribution, etc. I'd be up for participating for an hour or so before the match. Please reply on this thread.

I helped organise the collection around the pubs last week, and I'd like to thank everyone who gave a few bob or a couple of words of encouragement. The reaction was so good that we were thinking of doing the same thing this Saturday before the Dublin-Tyrone Replay. Any help would be greatly appreciated- we're meeting at 12.45 in front of the Ulster Bank across the road from the Big Tree Pub. It's quite an early throw-in, so we should be finished by about 2 or 2.15.

Collecting tins, badges etc will be provided.

Regarding "Boycott Shell" on the stickers- There are actually three different designs :
"Free the Rossport 5", "Shell to Sea.Com" over the Shell Logo, and "Boycott Shell", so Mick was just unlucky that he got the last one.

We're hoping to get some "Statoil" stickers printed for Friday.

If anyone else is available to come along on Saturday please do- it's very worthwhile and spreads awareness of the campaign as well as raising much needed funds- call me for more info- 087 618 1620- Tadhg
