At the foot of the mountain, Rossport 5 supporters were collecting signatures. Banners were strung along the hedgerows and many pilgrims took the time to inform themselves of the issue.

Those we spoke to on the mountain expressed shock at the five men being kept in jail until October.
Not one person made an issue of the ‘cost to the state of keeping them in jail.’ To them it was a non-argument. Expressing instead a respect for the 5 law-abiding men and disgust for a legal system that doesn’t abide by its citizens.
