As a TD he voted for coalition with FF, he voted for water tax, he supported a right wing government that implemented cuts and attacks on working conditions. This is after saying he'd never go into coalition with FF. The chap cant be trusted, he has sold out. Move on!
The procedure under which Cllr. Bree is to face an internal party investigation. For Simply criticising two party councillors on Sligo Council, who voted against plans to house local Travellers, was in fact established by Ruriri Quinn to rid out Racism in the Party!
How ironic is that!
The only complaint the committee investigated was that in relation to racist remarks made by former Lord Mayor of Cork, Joe O'Callaghan, but Joe fled to the safe arms of Fine Gael before his peers got an opportunity to sit in conclave.
Dont the Labour 'left' champion the fact that Labour councillors cant be subject to decisions of the party. The Labour 'left' I thought would be supportive of these rqacist cllrs's right to disobey the party?!
Labour Youth were one of the main groups pushing for a complaints board for public reps who were making rascist remarks when Quinn was leader !
Where are they now????
Bree is one of the only Labour Public Reps. who supports their policy of a no vote on the EU Constitution and their stance against the pact with FG!
So much for loyalty and allies within the LP.
Maybe they are afraid of being next!
I didn't see any sign of Rabbitt at the demo yesterday, little support for his fellow Mayo men?
I wouldn't expect anything less. I saw the Sligo/Leitrim Labour Banner there. Bree has no problem showing his support!
LP Watch hasn't a clue what he's writing about. Declan Bree never voted for water tax. The public records will prove that. Declan Bree never voted for cuts or voted to attack workers conditions and again the record will prove that. In fact the record will show that Bree was carpeted by Spring and Co. on numerous occasions when he was a TD.
LP Watch obviously hasn't been watching.
What the Labour Party needs urgently are more Declan Bree's
